Midwife Visit

When you have a baby in the NHS, one of the perks are the early days home visits by the midwives. Generally, they come a few times within the first 2 weeks to check in on mom & baby and make sure everything is going ok and to give any support needed. I have to say, it is really nice not to have to venture to the hospital or clinic for a check. Usually one of the first visits is on day 5 where the midwife weighs the baby using the traditional sling method. We have these same type of pictures of Bowen when she was born and would you believe the exact same midwife came for both she AND Henry! H had dropped just slightly in weight down to about 7 lbs 11 oz from his original 8 lbs. He would quickly make that up and a week later he had regained his birth weight and more!
