Looking back at the pictures for this post, brought me right back to that day - and boy, was it a good day. After the volcano mess, long flight and the interim stay in Raleigh, we had finally arrived at the beach, and it could not have felt better! Albeit a little windy, cool and overcast, there was nothing like hopping out of the car with Leah, Gabe & Harper, grabbing a beer and immediately heading for the beach!! It was, after all, Bowen's first trip to the beach and first time to put her toes in the sand & water. No pictures of that, but we did have an excellent videographer - Uncle Gabe - capture the moment, and many thanks to him for doing a wonderful job! We were also able to capture, not so wonderfully, a 3 ft sand shark caught by some local fishermen! Guess what? Not getting in the water! After Bowen's introduction to the beach, she promptly fell asleep for the rest of our walk. I'm so glad I have the picture of her and me together since it's a rare thing now to be able to hold her while she's sleeping - so sweet. Thinking back, this walk might be one of my favorite memories of the trip. Nothing quite like the feeling of arriving at your holiday destination after a long trip, sand in the toes, the sound and smell of the ocean and one long deep breath. But what made that moment was having Leah, Gabe & Harper there to share it with us. I will always remember the laughter we shared on the beach, oh, and the hilarious site of Leah "relieving herself" behind a beach walkway and Harper going to find her! Did I mention we have that on film? Leah, you better be nice, or else! :)
