Big Ben

After our travels last weekend, Stew took the Monday off work so we could spend some time together with the kids. We also had new carpet being installed in our living room that day and had to be out of the house, so it worked perfectly to take the day for a family outing! We decided to hit up the London Aquarium which is just across the river from Westminster, Parliament, and Big Ben. I won't go into major detail, but lets just say the aquarium is not one of London's bright spots (IMHO). It's v dark with narrow walkways - something of a labyrinth. It did not surprise me when this did not sit well with Bowen, nor did I blame her! So, that experience was fairly short lived. Despite the aquarium being a bit of a bust, the day itself was so relaxing and a wonderful experience. Bowen rode the train both ways in her very own seat, which was very exciting for her. She was commenting on everything and everyone - we were hopeful not everyone heard what she was saying! She often likes to talk about people who she thinks have babies in their tummy's - and most of these people did NOT! Once we got to Westminster, she was happy to hold my hand and walk, so we let her walk the entire way to the aquarium. We stopped on the bridge to talk about Big Ben and listen to the chimes. She shocked us this week, by recounting this experience and the music she heard at "Big Ben - a big clock"! She loved seeing the River Thames and was generally very interested and enthralled by everything. It was a great day out and in addition, we got lots of fun 'London' shots with Bowen! Enjoy... xo
